Angela Farmer & Victor van Kooten
Angela Farmer has been teaching yoga for more than 35 years. She studied with B.K.S. Iyengar over a period of 10 years and has made several trips to India, where she underwent personal transformation through her numerous interactions with Indians, yogis, and saints. Instinctually, she developed a process of "undoing" rather than "doing" yoga that invites inner dialogue with the body and brings feeling, movement, and freedom to yoga practice. Angela has two highly acclaimed DVD's:
The Feminine Unfolding and
Inner Body Flow.
Victor van Kooten was born in Holland and began practicing yoga in 1966 with renowned teacher Dona Holleman. He moved to Pune, India to study with B.K.S. Iyengar and became one became one of Mr. Iyengar's most senior teachers, known for his particular skill in giving imaginative and profoundly insightful adjustments to students. Following a traumatic experience that left him partially paralyzed, he became fascinated with the energy body and began to explore its subtle wisdom and healing power. After leaving India, Victor found a kindred spirit in Angela Farmer, and since 1984 they have been sharing their unique visions of how energy naturally flows through the body. To illustrate he and Angela’s essential teachings se has created a series of books called
From The Inside Out, which are a combination of “visionary images of elemental energy patterns” and “evocative text, written in his own incomparable linguistic style.”
Angela & Victor believe that yoga is a kinetic process, involving every living cell. They encourage students to explore their own inner energy and to listen inside to their own authentic way of moving, in order to open to profound feelings of vitality, empowerment, and ease.
