Namaste International. This training was based on the teachings of Vanda Scaravelli. She has also completed Erich Schiffmann’s teacher training in 2006, and continues to regularly train with him. Darlene believes these two approaches are similar in many ways and blend well together. She emphasizes grounding and having an effortless breath, along with creating length and flexibility in the spine. Darlene encourages her students to learn to become inspired by their own practice, by exploring their options with the breath and postures. Using the fundamentals of Yoga, she offers creative variations, to help students discover their own expressive Yoga style. Meditation is also an important part of Darlene’s practice. She guides students through meditation in her classes and also encourages them to develop their own practice. Darlene also suggests “pausing” throughout the day and learning to be guided from within. In 2005, Darlene released a Yoga DVD entitled, From the Ground Up: Experience the Freedom of Scaravelli Yoga. Currently, Darlene teaches workshops throughout most of the United States.
