Rachel was first turned on to yoga while pursuing her BA in Theatre & Dance at James Madison University in Harrionsburg, VA. She was instantly hooked and could not think of a better way to be “in the moment” than by practicing yoga. Not only was her practice been great for honing her acting skills, but it has also provided her the tools to tackle various health issues. She began practicing and studying in 2000 and hasn’t stopped since.
Rachel graduated from Pure Prana’s Holistic Teacher training in 2008 and began teaching right away. She threads her classes with love, life, laughter, and the pursuit of all things good and free. As an expression of her yoga practice, she chronicles her ups, downs, and all around-s on her blog The Capricious Yogi.
Rachel believes that we must respect the traditions and lineage of yoga while finding ways to relate its all encompassing teachings to the world today. With that thought in mind, she happily explores life, love, and happiness along this intricate road of life through the practice of yoga.
