Tahnee Fournier is a Certified Anusara Yoga teacher.
Tahnee began her practice of yoga in Vancouver, BC. Shortly after her ‘awakening’ on the mat, she realized this was her calling and moved to Los Angeles. There she began her formal training at Center for Yoga (now Yoga Works) where she was introduced to Anusara Yoga, under then Director at the time, Diana Beardsley. Anusara Yoga had the most profound affect on her with its heart-orientated approach and the Universal Principles of Alignments that physically transformed both her body and mind.
Shortly after she moved to the Cayman Islands and created Absolute Yoga LTD, a company that focused on Hatha Yoga in the Anusara Style. Tahnee introduced the yoga and active lifestyle-clothing brand Tonic to the Island, developed Grand Cayman’s first online yoga directory and contributed Karma Yoga to the Women’s Crisis Center, Free Banks Women’s Prison and the Cayman Island Olympic Swim team. She was featured regularly in the local media always striving to draw attention to the positive benefits of Yoga.
Tahnee currently lives in Ireland where she initiated the awareness of Anusara yoga and launched it onto the yoga scene. She had the great honor to both host and assist John Friend on his first visit to Ireland in 2011; as well she hosted Sianna Sherman, Desiree Rumbaugh, Deb Nebauer, Marc Holzman, BJ Galvan, Jayendra Henley, Bridget Kramer Woods and Lois Nesbit. “My gratitude goes out to John Friend and the Anusara teachers who taught me to see within and experience the Divine in its entirety; they inspire me to be a better teacher and person”
Tahnee is known for her uplifting and inspiring attitude as a yoga teacher. Her classes are challenging, playful and insightful, weaving together both the spiritual contexts and physical alignments of Yoga. When not teaching in exotic locations such as Grand Cayman and Saskatoon, Tahnee delights in taking time to play on her yoga mat with her daughters Tehya Mar and India Lake spending lots of time in gigglasana and hugasana, she loves Irish Sport Horse and show-jumping, reading esoteric Yogic texts, and dancing with the Divine everywhere. www.tahneefournier.com
