What technology runs my iHanuman Teacher Page?
iHanuman's utilizes Wordpress MU (Multi-User) as the platform to run your iHanuman Teacher Page. Wordpress has the deserved reputation of being the best and most user-friendly publishing software on the web. The WordPress Control Panel, also known as the Dashboard, enables you to access and control all of the functions and features of your page, from updating your profile to creating blog posts and more! This tutorial will begin with logging into the backend of your teacher page and then go on to cover the range of available features.
How do I login to my iHanuman Teacher Page?
Go to your iHanuman Teacher Page. In the upper right corner of the Profile section is a "Teacher Login" link. This link takes you to the Wordpress Login page where you can enter your username and password.

Just click the "Lost Your Password?" link below the login boxes. On the subsequent page, enter either your username or email address, click "Get New Password" and a new one will be emailed to you. (If you enter your email address it must be the one we have on record as being associated with your user account.) Once you receive the reset password you can login and change it to whatever you want. See next topic.
(All of the following topics assume you have first logged into your Teacher Page)

How do I change my profile picture?
Clicking the current profile picture on the "Yoga Teacher Profile" edit page will give you an option of either editing or deleting the image. Click the delete icon. Above the formatting toolbar is "Add media:" and several icons. The first icon is "Add an Image". You then have options as to where you would like to import your picture from: From Computer, a URL link, or a previously uploaded picture in your Gallery or Media Library. Follow the instructions for whichever choice, making sure that the alignment is set for Left and click "Insert into Post". How do I add photos to the PhotoGallery?
Click "Add Gallery/Images" under the "Gallery" tab. Click the "Upload Images" tab and Browse your computer for the pictures you would like to upload. (The Flash Uploader gives you the ability to upload multiple files at once; if for any reason your computer has problems with it, you can click the button to disable it and use the Browser Uploader to upload one at a time.) Once you have selected the desired images, under "Choose Gallery" select "Photo Gallery" and click "Upload Images".
Now that the images have uploaded, it is time to give them titles and descriptions. Under the "Gallery" tab on the left click "Manage Gallery", and on the following page click the linked "Photo Gallery" title. The images you uploaded to the Gallery display on the bottom section of this page. You can click "Edit Thumbnail" to make it appear how you want. Assign a title and description in the boxes beside each image, add tags if you like, and click "Save Changes". Your uploaded images will now appear on your Photo Gallery page!

My photos are large and take a long time to display. Can I resize them so they will load faster?
Photos directly from digital cameras have very large dimensions and files sizes, leading to long load times. We recommend photo dimensions no greater than 800x600 and a resolution of 72dpi. You can either use an image editing program to resize your pictures before you upload them, or you can resize them after uploading them to your Photo Gallery by using the Resize tool that is integrated into the NextGEN Photo Gallery software. Here are the steps to take if you choose to resize them after you upload them to your Photo gallery.
Click "Manage Gallery" under the "Gallery" tab. Click the linked 'Photo Gallery' title. Check the box next to all of the images you would like to resize. Change the drop-down to 'Resize Images' and click 'Apply'. When the status bar says the process is complete, click 'Save Changes'.

I have a Flickr account. Can I make thumbnails from my Flickr account display in the sidebar?
Yes! There is a great Wordpress widget for Flickr call Flickrpress and it does exactly that. To add the widget to your sidebar click 'Widgets' under the 'Appearance' tab. Drag the 'Flickrpress' widget from the 'Available Widgets' box into the 'Sidebar Widgets' box, wherever you want it to appear. Paste the RSS Feed from your Flickr page into the 'Flickr RSS URL' box and click 'Save'. You can also change the number of thumbnails you want to appear, choose photos from only certain albums/photostreams, and other customizations. When visitors to your iHanuman page click on the thumbnails, it will take them directly to your Flickr page where they can explore more of your shared photos.

I have a blog on another website. Can I make those posts display automatically on my iHanuman Teacher page?
Absolutely! You have two options as to where these posts can display: beneath the blog section of your iHanuman teacher page or in your sidebar. Here's how you can easily do either, or both!
Click "Widgets" under the "Appearance" tab. 1) To display the posts in the sidebar, click the arrow next to "Sidebar Widgets" to expand it. Drag the widget titled "RSS" from the "Available Widgets" section into the "Sidebar Widgets" pane. Add the RSS feed URL to your blog and use the other options to customize the presentation. Click "Save". 2) To display the posts beneath the blog section of your teacher page, access the "Widgets" per above, drag the "RSS" widget from the "Available Widgets" section into the "Posts Widgets" pane, enter your RSS feed URL, customize the appearance with the available options and click "Save".
