When your body experiences a feeling of lightness, nothing feels locked or fixed. All the bodies joints are working together, intelligently sensing each other to create the physical feeling of lightness in the body. These feelings can have enormous therapeutic value. Many of life’s activities initiate patterns of collapse and heaviness in the shoulders, spine and pelvis, which diminish internal space, and bring a feeling of being pulled down. Through our yoga practice we can first become aware of the heaviness in our body and then free the skeleton and spine of its unhealthy patterns. Through our yoga practice, we can work in ways that create physical and energetic change to re-find the lift, elasticity and lightness of the body until it becomes a new pattern.
