Our yoga Center provides a safe and caring environment where students learn to awaken the inner intelligence of the body and unite it with the mind and spirit. Iyengar yoga originates from the teachings of BKS Iyengar. It emphasizes alignment, body awareness, specific sequencing, and the use of props which allows teachers to make every asana (posture) accessible to every student. Iyengar yoga is about discovery. Discovery of the difference between action and movement, between the peripheral body and internal action, that brings intelligence and wisdom to our poses and a body awareness that reaches into all aspects of life. Colleen Gallagher is our resident gem!! She has attained the unique position of being not only the very first Certified Iyengar Yoga instructor in Palm Beach County, but through her 30+ years of diligent study, is now the most senior Iyengar instructor in the entire Southeast. We are truly blessed to have Colleen on our staff. Colleen shares her vast knowledge by mentoring numerous teachers who are in the process of becoming certified yoga instructors through her ongoing teacher training workshops and study. Colleen continues to travel to India to study with the Iyengars, as well as other leading yoga teachers, including Patricia Walden and Manouso Manos. Colleen has a patient, encouraging teaching style, combining an outstanding work ethic with a sense of fun and lightness to deliver a meaningful class to her students.
