Connection is a vital aspect of the human experience and is the foundation of yoga. The development of a perception of connections is essential in the physical work that underpins this approach to yoga. Nurturing this spirit of connection is a critical component in developing skill in the physical exploration of yoga. Our spine, extending from the skull to the sacrum, is wrapped in muscle and fascial tissue and is the core link of our internal connections. A strongly integrated, well-connected body is the foundation of health and externally represents a well-organized energy system. One of the purposes of yoga is to support the development of a myriad of connections so that we can feel our body ever more deeply and more clearly. Development of connections within our body encourages rich internal communications across all internal systems which creates a foundation of health and wholeness.
